Creating master pages

By placing a design element on a master page and then applying that master to other pages, you ensure that all the pages incorporate that element. Of course, each individual page can have its own independent 'foreground' elements.

Add To add a master page:

On the Pages panel:

  1. Select Master Pages from the topmost control.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select Add (the + icon) to add a master with an auto-generated name and matching the document's setup..
    • Long press Add and on the dialog that appears:
      1. Type a Name for the master page.
      2. If the document has facing pages, choose whether the master page will have an Ambidextrous or a Facing page layout.
      3. Set the master page's Dimensions and Margins as required.
      4. Select OK.
To edit a master page's properties:
  1. Select Masters as the page type at the top of the Pages panel.
  2. Long press a master page's thumbnail.
  3. Select Spread Properties.
  4. On the dialog that appears:
    1. (Optional) To select multiple masters whose properties you wish to edit, tap their thumbnails.
    2. Edit the master's name (if only one master is selected), dimensions and scaling settings as needed.
    3. Select OK.
To rearrange master page thumbnails:
  1. Select Masters as the page type at the top of the Pages panel.
  2. Tap Manage Masters.
  3. (Optional) Tap the masters you wish to move to select them.
  4. Long press the masters you wish to move to pick them up.
  5. Drag and drop the masters to a new position.
