Add, arrange and remove pages

The number of pages in your document can be determined at document setup. After this, the Pages panel is used to add additional publication pages and master pages to your publication. Once created, you can arrange page order or remove specific pages directly from the panel.

The panel displays master pages in the upper Master Pages window and publication pages in the lower Pages window.

About master pages

Master pages act like templates, in that a master page can be shared by multiple publication pages. If you edit the master page at a later date, then all other pages will update to the new master page design instantly, although you can override master page content and design at any time.

Add Pages To add pages:
  1. Do one of the following on the Pages panel:
    • To add a new page(s) before/after a chosen page, select a page in the Pages window. The thumbnail that's shown as 'selected' is independent of the page you're currently working on.
    • To add a new page(s) at the start of the publication, deselect all pages by clicking in the neutral region of the lower window.
    • Alternatively, you can drag a selected master page and drop it between existing pages to add a new page using that master page's design.
  2. Click Add Pages.
  3. From the dialog, enter the Number of pages you want to add, the page before (or after) which pages should be added (if not chosen previously) and which master page (if created) to assign to the new page(s).
  4. Click OK.
