In Pixel Persona, you can create a custom brush from scratch using a raster image, from a copied preset or from a pixel selection.
To modify an existing brush:
On the Brushes panel, swipe left on the selected brush and tap Edit from the pop-up menu.
Adjust the settings in the General, Dynamics or Texture section.
Tap Save.
The selected brush will now carry the new characteristics set.
To update or reset brush settings:
Left-swipe on the brush you would like to modify and select the option.
To create a custom brush from scratch:
On the Brushes panel, select Preferences and then select:
New Intensity Brush—creates a brush stroke based on the opacity values of a raster image as its nozzle. In the pop-up dialog, navigate to and select a file.
New Round Brush—creates a brush stroke based on a circular shape.
New Square Brush—creates a brush stroke based on a rectangular shape.
New Image Brush—creates a brush stroke based on the color values of a raster image as its nozzle. In the pop-up dialog, navigate to and select a file.
New Brush From Selection—creates a brush stroke based on a pre-selected pixel area.
The new brush is added to the selected category using default settings, which can be altered.
To create a custom preset brush stroke from a preset:
On the Brushes panel, select a brush.
Left-swipe the brush entry and select Save As New Brush.
Select the new brush (below the original), left-swipe the entry and select Edit Brush.
Adjust the settings in the dialog. See Modifying brushes for more information.
Tap Save when done.
(Optional) Move your brush to a category via left-swipe on the newly created brush and selecting Move to.
To create a custom image brush from a pixel selection:
Make a selection using one of the selection tools.
On the Brushes panel, choose a category to save your brush to.
From Panel Preferences, select New Brush From Selection.
Adjust settings in the dialog for the General, Dynamics and Texture category, as required.
Tap Save.
The image brush is added to the end of the current brush category. Custom intensity brushes can also be created from a pixel selection on a mask by using the same process.
