Stroke Width Tool
The Stroke Width Tool lets you edit the pressure profile of curves created with line tools, typically the Pencil Tool, but also the Pen Tool and Vector Brush Tool.

The tool lets you add or edit pressure points on a curve by clicking or moving them on the curve. At any selected point you can set the stroke width which, along with other points, forms the pressure profile along the curve's length; the stroke width is set by dragging a point's handle inwards (or outwards).
The following settings can be adjusted from the context toolbar:
Lock Line Weight—when enabled, the maximum width cannot exceed 100% of the currently set stroke width. When disabled, the width can exceed the current stroke width (>100% pressure) without restriction. For the latter, the Stroke panel’s pressure chart will be rescaled to accommodate the exceeded stroke width.
Lock Point Reordering—when enabled, a pressure point cannot be dragged past any already placed point; when disabled, the pressure point order can be swapped.
Snap to Curve Nodes—when enabled, nodes (shown with a white fill) will be visible so you can snap pressure points to them.
Snap to Widths on Same Curve—if pressure point(s) already exist on the curve, then enabling this option, plus holding the , will snap to any previously set stroke width.These options are independent of the global snapping options.
