Duplicating objects

Increase your efficiency by duplicating objects or groups.

Affinity lets you make identical copies of objects in your designs. Once duplicated, you can modify the duplicate to create design variations.

Edit Menu To duplicate a selected object:

Power duplicate

If you duplicate an object and then transform the copy, immediately duplicating the transformed object (via the Edit menu or the Quick Menu) creates another object and then automatically applies the transform again to the newer copy. In other words, the transform is applied accumulatively with each duplication.

Original object, original object duplicated and rotated by 15° and then power duplicated numerous times.
Edit menu To power duplicate:
  1. Select one or more objects or groups.
  2. On the Edit menu's Clipboard section (or the Quick Menu), tap Duplicate.
  3. Transform the duplicated object or group, e.g. offset the duplicate from the original's position.
  4. Tap Duplicate again.
