When selected, layer content can be precisely manipulated using the Transform Studio.
About the Transform Studio
The Transform Studio lets you reorder, flip, rotate, resize, reposition or shear layer content precisely. In addition, you can align and distribute layer content precisely.
All resizing and repositioning is carried out in relation to a defined anchor point—corner, edge midpoint or centre—allowing the selected transform to be adjusted.
The following controls are found on the Transform Studio:
Tap the pin icon in the top right of the Studio to hide the Studio automatically.
Lock children—When enabled, any child (clipped) object will remain fixed in size and position when its parent object is transformed (moved, rotated, etc.).
Transform separately—When enabled, each selected object is scaled, rotated or sheared around its own anchor point. When disabled, the objects are transformed around a shared anchor point determined by their combined bounding box.
Order—reorders the selected layer content in relation to other layers. Choose Back One, Forward One, Move to Back or Move to Front.
Flip and rotate—rotates layer content 90° clockwise or anti-clockwise; flips layer content horizontally or vertically.
Dimensions—for resizing layer content.
Width—adjusts the layer content's width in relation to the selected anchor point. Tap the lock symbol to maintain aspect ratio on resizing.
Height—adjusts the layer content's height in relation to the selected anchor point.
Link—When enabled, width and height are adjusted in proportion to each other, maintaining the current aspect ratio. When deselected, they can be adjusted independently.
Position—for moving the layer content in relation to the page.
X—Horizontal position. Increasing the value moves the layer content to the right.
Y—Vertical position. Increasing the value moves the layer content down the page.
Rotation—rotates the layer content in relation to the selected anchor point.
Shear—shears the layer content in relation to the selected anchor point.
Anchor—transforms are carried out from the selected anchor point. Tap on an anchor point to select.
Using alignment options
The Alignment section offers the following controls:
Align Horizontally—aligns selected layer content to left, centre, or right; the last option distributes content evenly and horizontally.
Align to...—sets the alignment criteria for the operation. For example, you can align in relation to Selection Bounds, page Spread or page Margin.
Distribute Horizontally—for the last 'distribute' option, disable Auto to set a fixed 'buffer' Width between layer content; if Auto is enabled, layer content is automatically spread within leftmost and rightmost content.
Align Vertically—as for Align Horizontally but aligns vertically instead.
Distribute Vertically—as for Distribute Horizontally but distributes vertically instead.
