Edit selection as layer

Quick Mask — Previewing pixel selection.

When entering this mode, your selection is temporarily presented as a pixel mask. Pixels can be added or erased using the standard painting and erase tools.

Painting in black will erase areas from the selection.
Painting in white will add areas to the selection.
Painting a gray will vary the opacity of the selection depending on the tone of gray used.
Erased areas are always removed from a selection.

By default, while in this mode your page will show with a translucent, red overlay. After painting in white, the resulting untinted areas will not be included in the selection. This default view can be changed depending on your preferences.

To edit a selection using Edit Selection as Layer mode:

With the Photo Persona active, from the Selection menu, select Selection as Layer > Toggle Edit Selection As Layer.
Tap or drag on the page using any pixel-editing tool. Painting with white or gray will 'unmask'.
Repeat step 1 to exit the mode and return to display the selection as a marquee.
(Optional) To create a layer mask using the current selection, from the Layers panel, select the + symbol and then New Mask Layer.

To change Edit Selection As Layer view:

From the Selection menu, choose the Selection as Layer sub-menu, then select a 'Show' option. Here you can opt to show the selected areas as an Overlay, Black, White or Transparent mask.
