Templates are predesigned documents from which new documents can be created and then edited.
About document templates
Affinity apps allow you to create (export) document templates, which typically contain placeholder content. Templates have a .aftemplate file extension.
When saving a template, a preferred set of defaults will be saved with it. Text attributes, object properties, stroke/fill color, guides, as well as grid setup, and more can be associated with a template.
To save a file as a template:
From the Document menu, select Export As Template.
A pop-up dialog will appear, prompting you to enter a name. Tap Save.
On the dialog, choose a local or cloud location for your template.
To create an untitled document from an Affinity template (or any Affinity document):
Do one of the following:
From the Home screen, tap New, then on the pop-up menu, select New From Template. Select a template from Recents or browse to locate a template.
Drag and drop an .aftemplate file from the Files app onto anywhere on the Home screen.
