Using layer effects

Layer effects can be applied to images, objects, shapes and text to add more creativity to your compositions.

Layer FX
(A) Simple Outer Shadow layer effect, (B) a blended Outer Shadow and (C) multiple Outer Shadow effects.
Available layer effects:

* Can be applied as multiple instances to the same object or layer.

Layer effects can be applied from the Layer FX panel.

For multi-instance effects, some examples include:

To apply layer effects:
  1. On the Layers panel, select the layer(s) that you want to apply the effect to.
  2. On the Layer FX panel, toggle the effect on.
  3. Tap the effect name and adjust the settings as desired on the vertical sliders; these will appear on the left.
  4. Adjust the context toolbar settings as desired—options vary for each effect.
  5. Duplicate effect Delete effect (Optional) Tap Duplicate effect to create another instance of an outline, shadow or overlay effect; tap Delete effect to remove any selected multi-instance effect.
To edit layer effects from the Layer FX panel:
  1. Select the layer that you want to edit.
  2. On the Layer FX panel, tap the applied effect to reveal the options you want to edit.
  3. Adjust the settings as desired—options vary for each effect.
  4. If required, repeat for any other effects.
To edit layer effects from the Layers panel:
  1. On the Layers panel, select the layer that you want to edit.
  2. Swipe left and select Show Effects from the pop-up menu.
  3. Adjust the settings as desired.
  4. If required, repeat for any other effects.
