Opening a raw image

You can open raw images from your digital camera directly into Affinity Photo 2. In doing so, you'll be able to process the unprocessed image, deciding for yourself how your image is to be developed.

Processing raw images is carried out exclusively within Affinity Photo 2's Develop Persona. Once you commit to how you want to your image to be developed, the image can then be worked on in other Personas.

Open To open a raw image:
  1. From the Home screen, select Open to offer:
    • Import Document—accesses your local or cloud storage (e.g., iCloud) to allow selection of a RAW image. Note that not all cloud storage options support identification and downloading of RAW images.
    • Import From Photos—accesses your searchable Apple Photos picker. RAW images are identified with a RAW tag on the thumbnail. Only available when using M1/M2 iPad models.
    • Import From Camera—accesses the iPad's in-built camera to capture a RAW image.

Once tapped, the raw image is loaded into Develop Persona for processing.
