Importing add-ons

Add-ons stored as files must be manually imported into Affinity. There are two ways to import them:

Add-ons supplied in an archive

Add-ons may be supplied in the ZIP file format or similar and must be extracted before they can be imported.

In the Files app, tap the archive to extract its contents to the same folder as it.

To import add-ons

For any type of add-on listed in the table below, follow the corresponding steps, then (except for fonts) browse to the add-on file to be imported and tap it.

Add-on type File extensions Multiple at once? To import…
Assets .afassets On the Assets panel, select Import Category from the Panel Preferences menu.
Brushes .afbrushes, .abr On the Brushes panel, select Import Brushes from the Panel Preferences menu.
Document templates .aftemplate check Use the Files app to move the document template files to a folder for long-term storage, then access the folder via the Templates section of the New Document dialog.

Install via the Fonts section of your Affinity app's Settings. Fonts installed this way are automatically available in all Affinity V2 iPad apps on the same device.

Font apps are available from the App Store. Fonts installed from them are available to other apps, including Affinity. Refer to your font app for instructions on installing its fonts.

  1. On the Adjustments panel, select LUT from the pop-up menu.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • For files that contain individual LUTs1, select Import LUT from the Preferences menu on the category into which you wish to import it.

Styles .afstyles On the Layer FX panel, tap Styles, then select Import Styles from the Panel Preferences menu.
Swatches palettes .afpalette, .ase (Adobe Swatch Exchange) On the Colour panel, tap Swatches, open the Panel Preferences menu, then select the palette type you want to create from the Import Palette submenu.

1 Either multiple LUT files or multiple LUT category files can be imported simultaneously.

After importing

When most types of add-on are imported, one or more new categories are created. One of these categories is automatically displayed on the corresponding panel, with the following exceptions:
