Layers panel (Photo and Export Persona)

The Layers panel lets you manage your design more easily by assembling layer content onto separate layers, each layer being independently controlled.

About the Layers panel

Layers are composited together to form your complete design which shows up on your page.

The panel can be used to build up your design as multiple layers, with each layer devoted to a particular facet (e.g., brush strokes, images, adjustments, as well as vector shape, line and text).

From the Layers panel you can:

Labelling layers with colours

Layers can be coloured to help with organisation and navigation of your document. Each layer can be assigned a single colour.

To assign a colour label:
  1. In the Layers panel, select one or more layers.
  2. Right-click one of the selected items.
  3. Choose a colour at the bottom of the contextual menu. It is applied to the entire selection.

When you assign a colour label to a layer group, it is also applied to layers within the group except any that have a colour label already.

To remove a colour label:
  1. In the Layers panel, select one or more layers.
  2. Right-click one of the selected items.
  3. At the bottom of the contextual menu, choose the first colour swatch (white with a red line through it). Colour labels are removed from the entire selection.

When you remove a colour label from a layer group, it is also removed from any layers of the same colour within the group.
